The idea for the Her Vision Film Festival was ignited by the speech that Joey Soloway, director of Transparent gave at the Toronto Film Festival in 2016. In speaking about how women have been marginalized by traditionally cis male directors, it became clear female and female-identifying voices have to be highlighted, praised, cherished, and championed! Creative vision knows no gender, no division, no orientation, together our creativity is cinema. Together our creativity makes up this journey called life.
